Welshpool
Welshpool is surrounded by smooth, flat land, and a promise of proximity to the coast. In the distance, the outlines of hills of the Strzelecki Ranges loom.
The small town has a distinct country feel, with rows of cottages lining the Rail Trail, and an avenue of mature oak trees flanking the main street.

- There is a small clutch of shops where you’ll be able to recharge with icy drinks and hot food.
- A generous grassy reserve is in the town centre, enjoying the shade of gum trees and palm fronds. The reserve is also serviced with toilets, shelter and a playground.

Port Welshpool
Be welcomed by the shimmering waters of this long-time fishing town. There’s salt in the air and a backing track of seagull cries.
Shallow waters lap gently against the sea wall at the edge of town, revealing vast pebbly flats at low tide. Facing a string of islands, Port Welshpool is protected from Bass Strait’s rougher swells, adding to the town’s laid-back vibe.

- The historic Port Welshpool Long Jetty is the town’s centrepiece living up to its name as it stretches 800 metres through Corner Inlet.
- Breathe in the maritime air with a walk along the Esplanade, lined with Norfolk Island Pines and views towards Wilsons Promontory.
- Drop a line from the serene jetties where the run-in tides bring in an abundance of flathead, whiting and squid.
- Shallow protected waters make this a popular swimming spot for families.
