The Great Southern Rail Trail spans two regions of Gippsland, South Gippsland and Wellington (The Middle of Everywhere). Each region offers unique delights, perfect for extended stays and more adventure.
To help you start planning your trip, we've collated some of the key things you need to put on your list when you are here enjoying the Trail.
Today we're celebrating the official opening of the Great Southern Rail Trail Activation Project from 2.00pm at the Koonwarra Biodiversity Walk (between Koonwarra and Meeniyan). If you're on the Trail between approximately 1.30pm and 3.00pm, please keep an eye out for vehicles on the Trail taking dignitaries to the site. If you're coming past, feel free to stop and enjoy the festivities with us.
